Electro-galvanized steel sheets are produced by applying zinc to the surface of hot-rolled or cold-rolled base material by electroplating. The surface is smooth and attractive, and the product has the same formability and weldability as the base material. Corrosion resistance, lubricity, and other properties are improved by applying various conversion treatments to the surface to meet diverse customer needs.

Characteristics
Formability
Unlike Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel, the base metal of the Electro-Galvanized Steel is less affected by the heat. Therefore it is able to retain its formability.
Paintability
Free from any spangles and pin-holes, the Electro-Galvanized Steel has a flawless surface that is most ideal for any type of paintig.(Additional surface treatments are available for futher enhacement of paintability.)
Corrosion reistance
EGI is evenly coated zinc enhances its resistance to any type of corrosion.(Additional surface treatments are availble for further enhancement of corrosion resistance.)
Weldability
Among all coated steel, the EGI has the highest weldability due to minimum amount of zinc being coated.
